"Acting is the most minor of gifts and not a very high-class way to earn a living. After all, Shirley Temple could do it at the age of four."

Next gig vs. Rent

Last night several people who are singing in the cabaret to raise money for Chapel Street Players came to my house to rehearse. I haven't been to a rehearsal yet b/c of Rent so last night I met a couple new faces and learned my parts in some of the songs. And I realized how difficult it is to start concentrating on a new project when you are in the midst of one. One so exciting and thrilling that you know will end soon and then it's on to the next thing.

It ended up being a good rehearsal. It took me about 30 times to learn my harmony for the weird a capella section in "Ladies Singin' Their Song." I'm so used to singing the top line in RENT, I felt like I forgot how to find the harmony lines. I guess I may have seemed obnoxious asking Bill to plunk out each part, but I'm not one of those who can just find it by him playing the chord. So I was able to finally SORT of get my parts in the songs, which I have now forgotten, naturally.

Today I was eager to see the RENTers at brush-up but I get to work only to find an e-mail that says the brush-up is cancelled. I had even planned to have Jeremy do light my candle and chris do out tonight- wig and all! So I get on facebook and everyone is saying how they are missing the RENT family. So I guess I'm not the only one. We are supposed to possibly get up to 30 inches of snow this Saturday...

Dear God,
If you could hold the snow until Sunday evening, that would be amazing.

Love,
Kristin

I have so many friends coming on Saturday and that would suck if any shows got cancelled this weekend. We only have 3 weekends left to spend together and as much as I love snow, I won't be welcoming it with open arms on Saturday. I really hope mother nature doesn't shorten this awesome experience for us. I feel like I forgot how to do the show already.
