Last night of tech last night. Well, not really, Thursday is, but since we have an audience I'm kinda' considering that one a show. Chris told us to "think of it as a final dress rehearsal..." As much as I repeat it over and over in my head, not so sure my mind will believe it.
It was hectic- more organized but more hectic at the same time. I got there early and walked on the set like I always do, organized my costumes, pre-set all my stuff and put on my make-up and wig. I took out my notes I had written out and stared at them. I couldn't let anything break my concentration.
Sound check was like a big dance party and we got to watch Jeremy's opening dance number for the first time. Man he is talented. Flippin' all over the stage like that. And then we were at places for the start of Act I. My mic ended being on for like 1/2 of the first act even when I wasn't onstage, and I had people coming up to me telling me they heard me humming or singing along to the people onstage in funny voices. OOPS. So yeah, I'll be more conscious of that on Thursday.
In general, I felt much better about the run personally than the night before. The candle FINALLY cooperated!!!!!!! We did have to stop once or twice which made us all nervous, but I think it went pretty well. And we learned the curtain call which is probably the most fun part to do. :)Dominic and I incorporated a little Beyonce in there so life is good.
I can't believe the people that are coming to see this show. I got texts from people I haven't seen in so long telling me they are coming this weekend and I am just so thankful for everyone who is coming out to support it. My childhood best friend, family friends, my mom's friends, people from high school, so many people I've done shows with in the past...it's crazy. I gotta' remember to bring my camera out with me when I reunite with so many people. Kevin's text last night: "I can't wait to see you :) :) :) :) :)" and you KNOW how hard it is to make that many smiley faces in one text.
Randoms from Last Night:
1. Doing this show makes me want to eat cheese fries and pizza.
2. The hallway to our dressing room smells of dog sh**. Matt went outside, stepped in some and dragged it all in.
3. Mandy is the mic queen. She puts my mic on perfectly and is so helpful. She even took pictures of the show for us. What would we do without her???
4. Being barefoot in one scene makes me think everyone is staring at my feet. Like there is a spotlight on them and everyone is looking. Ew. I hate when singers sing barefooted.
5. I think I have a new love: tall boots.
6. I saw Lyric singing along to seasons of love with us. oh yea, and she's 3.
7. No matter how hard I try, I will never have muscular arms. I will put that goal to rest.
8. Watching B do "Glory" is just...amazing.
9. I saw Matt Bennis jump up and down in excitement when we were told what we were doing for curtain call. "THIS IS SO EXCITING!" he screamed. I LOVE his excitement.
10. Tina is always lookin' out for me. Like when I missed warm-up one night, she did it with me afterwards. Sometimes I forget how much people care.
11. Tommy is my boo and that is all I need to say.
