3 More rehearsals until tech week. I already know that my entire office plus their family members and a few clients, 2 friends I haven't seen since high school, and members from my mother's bible study group have bought tickets to this show- as well as close friends and family. No pressure. None at all. Sike.
So yes, this one's a big one for me. Thank the Lord that the cast and artistic staff are supportive and more than willing to help everyone out. But regardless, I will still be close to puking on opening night. For many reasons:
1. "Without You" has the most random lyrics ever, not sure if I'll remember those
2. My mom has invited her bible study group, as well as her worship group- Praying that she has given them all the disclaimer about this show
3. I will have to be openly sexual with B in front of my father and his aunt Rose
4. Our candle will not cooperate in "Light My Candle."
5. The theatre is hella cold always, and I will be down to my skivvies... you'll see my teeth chattering from the back row, oh yea, and my big-ass goosebumps that appear on my cheeks...yes I get goosebumps on my cheeks. It's really weird.
6. I have heard about at least 5 other productions of RENT being put together as well. Cast members from those shows will be coming to ours. And as much as I tell myself they're comin' for support, well, let's be honest, theatre ppl will judge. I've done it.
7. Busting my ass at the gym has not helped me at all with the cardio. I am still winded not even half way through "Out Tonight."
8. Will my lipstick stay on after all those make-out sessions?
So as we enter into our last 3 rehearsals before tech, I'm trying to remember how quickly shows have come together in the past; How my tonsils WILL swell down before preview, how my left foot will NOT charlie horse all the way up my leg anymore, and how I will NOT fall down the stairs in heeled go-go boots.
AGENDA FOR THIS WEEK:
- Find my fishnets
- GYM GYM GYM
- Shave for costumes!
- Buy a pomegranate
- Drink water
- Study script
LOVE the pic for this entry. And I also love that you have "buy a pomegranate" on your agenda. Haha. Awesome.
